About Hands of Hope Walton
Let’s work together
The Hands of Hope Walton Support Group was created in 2016 by parents and teachers that have families and students with disabilities and exceptional needs in Walton County, Georgia, and the surrounding areas. This Family Support Group was established as a parent-run group, whose mission is to provide support, inclusive play, and resources for individuals and families with kids with exceptional needs in our County.
Chasity Stewart
Executive Director & Founder
Our Executive Director Chasity Stewart founded the group when she realized there was a significant need for support in our still rural county. Chasity has a daughter with a different ability due to vaccine injury and she was looking for a way to do more in the community. Chasity is a champion of youth development and community engagement. In 2015 she met a young man named Keenan Freeman who had a debilitating illness. As Keenan’s illness progressed it was harder and harder for Kennan to play inclusively with other children. Keenan was the inspiration behind our Park Project. You can read about Keenan on our home page.
