Hands of Hope

Hands of Hope works with families and individuals with disabilities and exceptional needs. Our mission is to work collaboratively with other agencies and our local city and county governments to enhance and change the lives of individuals with extraordinary needs. In doing so, Hands of Hope strives to make a positive, long lasting impact in the community.

Our Mission

The mission of HOH is empowering families and individuals with special needs in Walton County. Assist and support families through integrated community involvement.

Ongoing Events

Family events are offered throughout the year. Hands of Hope Summer Picnic was our first family event. We will be adding more community events and we are planning on revamping some old ones. Sponsorships are available for family events as well. Event sponsorships cover the cost of food and activities for our community events.

Keenan’s Story

Keenan Arness Freeman

August 5, 2005 – March 6, 2018

Keenan and his family are a part of the Hands of Hope Family. Keenan suffered from a debilitating illness that led to him losing his ability to walk and participate in all the fun activities that he once loved. Keenan loved to dance, laugh, and dress up in costumes. Students and teacher both loved and adored his strength. Keenan was a 6th grade student at Carver Middle School and participated in numerous camps and organizations such as the Special Olympics, Hands of Hope, ESP Summer Camp and the Stone Soup Camps. Keenan Freeman and many others in the community have been the inspiration and the motivation behind bringing an inclusive park to this area. Keenan was a sweet young man who passed away at the young age of 12 before we completed our project. We are heartbroken that he will not get to see our completed inclusive park, but we continue moving forward because of him.

Helping Children All Over the County

Our current project is a wellness initiative to rebuild Hammond Park in Monroe, Georgia. The improvements and renovations will transform the current park into an inclusive playground that will include features to accommodate ANY child no matter their needs. Wheelchair accessible equipment, activities for blind children, and sensory inclusion for children on the Autism Spectrum are just a few of the focuses of the park. We strive to be an organization that helps create a ripple effect of positive change and economic stability in our community,
